Chris Seavor the creator of Conker’s Bad Fur Day is currently speculating that he is considering developing games downloadable from the Wii U shop.

He is considering utilizing the full potential that the Wii U Game Pad has to offer to maximize entertainment.

Would you ever consider porting your game to Wii U, PS Vita, or 3DS to take advantage of their touchscreen and tilt capabilities?

“Yep… Tablet and Smart Phones only at the moment… Although looking at the Wii U (as one of my tweeters pointed out last week), it definitely might have potential for the new controller… But only on their indie shop (eShop) thing, and not for while if we do decide to look into it… I’d rather start something new…

Fail0verflow has managed to find an exploit that is compatible to run on the Wii U and install the Homebrew Channel instead.

This will work using the Smash Stack exploit in the Wii U (Super Smash Bros. will be needed)

In case you do not have Super Smash Bros for Wii, you can pick a copy up on Amazon using the link below.

Note: This exploit once it has been fully tested and proven safe will still only function in normal Wii Mode

Meaning that you will be able to use your favorite emulators and any other homebrew apps you liked on your original Wii.

The Wii U mode is taking a little more time to break, but this is just one step forward into having the Wii U fully hacked.

For those who have not tested it yet Hulu has arrived for the Wii U

Hulu Plus is basically a huge online streaming service that offers our favorite TV shows such as Family Guy, The Office and more.

Here is a complete list of all Shows on Hulu

http://www.hulu.com/plus/content

One neat thing about using Hulu Plus is how you control it using the Wii U Gamepad. The game pad will display the show if you want to change the input on your TV to something else. For example your parents want to watch a show on your Flat Screen but you were watching Hulu on the Wii U. You can easily flick the content that is displaying on the TV onto the Game Pad and watch it anywhere in the house

Hulu Plus subscription is $7.99 a month, but is well worth it. If you have used Netflix before in my opinion Hulu has better and newer content.

You can sign up for their free 7 day trial here

http://www.hulu.com/plus?src=top-nav

On a side note we have begun going through a lot of information over the last few days to get homebrew working on WII-U mode instead of just the Wii mode.

In case anyone is worried about updating to 2.0.0 the Smash Stack exploit still does work for me after the update. Just make sure you keep your console turned on until the update completes.

We are all on IRC on server: irc.wiiuhacks.com port 7011

In case you don’t have an IRC program visit http://www.mirc.com

Credits - Comex

Note: An SDHC card will not work with Super Smash Brothers Brawl. You must have an SD card that is 2GB or less.

Go to the stage builder, move any existing custom stages on Brawl to your SD card, and exit the stage builder. Smash Stack will not work if the console has any custom stages on it, even the three samples that come with a new file or the stages from the Smash Service. You will need to wait at least 24 hours for the stage from the Smash Service to be automatically deleted before trying to run this exploit. DO NOT go on Wi-Fi once the Smash Service stage is deleted.

Connect the SD card to your computer and rename the “private” folder to “privateold” in the root of the SD card.

Copy the “private” folder from the Smash Stack download to the root of the SD card.

Grab a *.elf file (HackMii Installer‘s boot.elf works) and put that in the root of the SD card.

Insert the SD card into the Wii. Note that the Wii U system menu deletes Smash Stack so do not insert the SD card until you are in Brawl.

Go back to the stage builder and the .elf file will load.

How it works

Smash Stack works by exploiting the way Super Smash Bros. Brawl loads stages. It is different from the other WiiMode exploits in the way it is loaded. Twilight Hack and Indiana Pwns, for example, exploit the save files of their respective games to execute a stack smash and load custom code. Super Smash Bros. Brawl’s stage loader loads from the SD card and not from a save file on the Wii itself. Since the exploit is loaded from SD, it completely bypasses the System Menu, making it difficult for Nintendo to patch, which is presumably why it still works on the Wii U.

You can leave comments below to let everyone in the community know your experience with these exploits on your Wii U

I Just wanted to give everyone a huge heads up in the homebrew scene. We were doing some research and found out Nintendo likes to Rape people, not literally but pretty close. It turns out Nintendo has a secret background service running on the Wii U that automatically updates your firmware regardless if you decline to perform it or not.

This is a very dangerous thing for a couple of reasons.

First off a lot of people decline updates until they are fully tested. If a person declines this update for the time being and they do not realize that their Wii U is performing a system update, this may bricktheir console since it’s trying to flash an incomplete firmware update.

I have heard rumors that this has happened to a bunch of Wii U Consoles already since the first update could take an hour or so to update.

UPDATE: If this happens to your console try turning it on and leaving it alone for an hour or so, it may be frozen at the Wii U Logo screen until it completes the update in the background.

If for some reason you attempt to leave it and it’s not finishing the update Nintendo will expedite shipping and repair for you. You have to call them at 1-800-255-3700

I would still try this a few times before sending it in as their current turn around time is almost 2 weeks.

You could also try unplugging the Wii U for 20-30 minutes, plug it back in, power up and leave it alone overnight to see what happens before resorting to their repair centers.

Second if we are to discover more flaws in Nintendo’s security allowing the Wii U to run homebrew than they could potentially automatically patch the flaws before everyone was able to jailbreak their Wii U’s

I have talked to a few members and we are almost to a unanimous decision to tell everyone a week or so in advanced if we have any major announcements to remove their Internet connection from the Wii U so we can have everyone perform the hack rather than it get patched up by Nintendo.

We are also going to write software to block updates from Nintendo unless it is a safe update, this is already possible to do using DNS redirection but rather than over complicate things for people in the Wii U hacking scene we’ll make it a Wii Based service just as Nintendo has decided to make their secretive update service.

It appears this does not block the Wii U Smash Stack exploit, but could be very dangerous like I said, everyone be careful, Even if you decline a Wii U update it will still do it with or without your permission. If you see a System update message on your TV trust me DO NOT power off the console at all, back away from it. If it shuts off you will have a shiny brick to display on your door steps.

Nintendo I have a message for you. No means No
